Narrative:
I landed at heq to drop off a mechanic to pick up an aircraft at the airport. I made standard radio calls and on final to runway 14 I noticed a thrush aircraft on downwind who made no calls. I landed and taxied to the end. I exited the runway on the turn-around to allow him to land. The thrush made an approach and went missed and appeared to depart to the south. I made a call that I was taxiing back on the runway (as there is no taxiway to take). As I was halfway down the runway the mechanic I was with stated the thrush was touching down behind us (runway 32). I accelerated as quickly as I safely could; and the mechanic stated the thrush closed to within 1;000 feet of our tail. The aircraft would have made contact with us if we had not accelerated down the runway as we did.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: C206 pilot reported landing on Runway 14 at HEQ and sighting a Thrush on downwind. The reporter pulled into the turnaround at the end of Runway 14 and watched the Thrush make a low approach and appear to depart to the south. He announced a back taxi on Runway 32; but halfway down the runway his passenger reported the Thrush was landing behind them. Taxi speed was greatly increased and a collision was avoided.
