Narrative:
Aircraft struck by lightning while on approach to yak, about 12 mi out in IMC conditions. Broke out in VMC conditions and landed west/O incident. Maintenance was advised that the airplane had been hit by lightning. Maintenance control in sea advised us that no inspection was necessary and told us to take the aircraft to juneau. We went on to juneau, where we landed west/O incident, and the aircraft was inspected and signed off by juneau maintenance.

Title: MLG EXPERIENCES LIGHTNING STRIKE ON APCH. REPORTER BELIEVES THAT AN INSPECTION IS NECESSARY, BUT MAINTENANCE SAYS NO.
Narrative: ACFT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING WHILE ON APCH TO YAK, ABOUT 12 MI OUT IN IMC CONDITIONS. BROKE OUT IN VMC CONDITIONS AND LANDED W/O INCIDENT. MAINT WAS ADVISED THAT THE AIRPLANE HAD BEEN HIT BY LIGHTNING. MAINT CTL IN SEA ADVISED US THAT NO INSPECTION WAS NECESSARY AND TOLD US TO TAKE THE ACFT TO JUNEAU. WE WENT ON TO JUNEAU, WHERE WE LANDED W/O INCIDENT, AND THE ACFT WAS INSPECTED AND SIGNED OFF BY JUNEAU MAINT.
