Narrative:
On 11/mon/89, the FAA boarded my aircraft with the proper identify, but no authority/authorized (which I didn't know was required until later), and told me if he could prove it was me talking below 10000' he would violate me. I told him that I hadn't. He asked to see our licenses and medicals, and he was going to observe us back to den. He asked for a splitter so he could listen to our conversation. I told him that we didn't have one. Meanwhile our passenger are trying to board. I turned on the speaker so he could hear the conversation. By this time, we had been on the ground 10 mins. We were doing a single engine turn, and he was informed by the ground personnel that we were running late. As we were ready for taxi, I asked for the clearance and reached for the clipboard, only to discover that he had it. I had to stop and retrieve it. By now it had been 20 mins on the ground before we took off. When we got in the air I noticed him come forward to observe us. As we began our initial descent into den and made the announcement to fasten seat belts, I noticed he had come forward again.
