Narrative:
On short final to runway 3R at pdk; a small low wing airplane attempting to land on rwy 3L overshot his landing runway centerline and nearly missed our aircraft. The passengers onboard my aircraft were noticeably concerned; as well as all three crew members who witnessed the near miss. The small airplane missed our aircraft by approximately 250 lateral feet and approximately 50 vertical feet. The sic contacted the tower upon landing and expressed his concerns. Initially the tower operator tried to say that these things happened every day at pdk and that it was the second busiest airport in georgia. Blah; blah; blah! (No humor intended!); and that it was not a problem.when using parallel runways that are very close together; traffic information; heads up information; and possible de-confliction information would have been nice to hear and get!
