Narrative:
Immediately after rotation on takeoff on runway 24L at lax, large black birds flew right to left into path of aircraft. One bird went into intake of #2 engine. Lost .10 on err N1 fluctuated plus 2 percent then dropped 7 percent then stabilized back to normal. Retarded throttle 10 percent and returned to airport. Ground inspection revealed major damage to front blades of engine.

Title: MLG EXPERIENCES BIRD STRIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER ROTATION. SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE RESULTS.
Narrative: IMMEDIATELY AFTER ROTATION ON TKOF ON RWY 24L AT LAX, LARGE BLACK BIRDS FLEW RIGHT TO LEFT INTO PATH OF ACFT. ONE BIRD WENT INTO INTAKE OF #2 ENGINE. LOST .10 ON ERR N1 FLUCTUATED PLUS 2 PERCENT THEN DROPPED 7 PERCENT THEN STABILIZED BACK TO NORMAL. RETARDED THROTTLE 10 PERCENT AND RETURNED TO ARPT. GND INSPECTION REVEALED MAJOR DAMAGE TO FRONT BLADES OF ENGINE.
