Narrative:
I took a check ride in an small transport with the local FAA inspector. I asked to put the ride off until the next day, because of the sub-0 temperature. He did not want to. I could not get the small transport to start. After preheat we got airborne. Things started going wrong right away. Trim tab (pitch) froze up. Auxiliary fuel gauges went dead. Altimeter started reading 100+' off. Radio was very weak in transmitting. Very good on receiving. After we returned to bowman field, louisville, ky. The FAA inspector told me I had taken him up in an unairworthy airplane and he was going to violate me. I don't feel this is fair to me. The temperature was -15 degrees F.
