Narrative:
During preflight action of the rotary wing owned by xyz helicopters, incorporated. I inadvertently missed several items on a multiple page computer printout which gave the maintenance status of the aircraft in relationship to asb's and ad's. I overlooked the status of the following asb's which were amongst hundreds of entries on the multiple page computer format: ASB206L-89-56 rev B aeroquip hoses due replacement 12/xx/90, ASB206L-89-56 aeroquip hoses due replacement 12/xx/89, ASB206L-89-57 pc filter housing due replacement 04/xx/89, and ASB206L-89-61 right main rotor control bolts due inspection 12/xx/89. I performed a normal preflight in accordance with the manufacturer's checklist, reviewed the maintenance logbook, reviewed the aforementioned forms, and performed a routine day VFR training flight with the company chief pilot who was providing me training. There were no incidents during the flight. Upon completion of the flight I just happened to pick up the computer forms again and while looking at them I noticed that the asb's previously listed were overflown. After rendering the proper courtesies to the maintenance personnel, I wrote the items up in the maintenance logbook and grounded the aircraft. The maintenance personnel said they would check the accuracy of the computer printout and correct where appropriate or perform the required maintenance as applicable. Supplemental information from acn 133156: after a training flight we double-checked the aircraft logbook and maintenance status sheet. At this time we found that the student had overlooked the status of some asb's. In the future I will check aircraft status myself before all flts.

Title: HELICOPTER TRAINEE OVERLOOKS SOME MAJOR MAINTENANCE NOTES IN ACFT STATUS PRIOR TO FLT. OPEN ITEMS WERE PRESENTED IN A CONVOLUTED FASHION BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL WHO HAD FAILED TO SERVICE THE REQUIRED INSPECTION. ITEMS ALSO OVERLOOKED BY INSTRUCTOR PLT ON TRAINING FLT.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM ACN 133156: AFTER A TRAINING FLT WE DOUBLE-CHECKED THE ACFT LOGBOOK AND MAINT STATUS SHEET. AT THIS TIME WE FOUND THAT THE STUDENT HAD OVERLOOKED THE STATUS OF SOME ASB'S. IN THE FUTURE I WILL CHECK ACFT STATUS MYSELF BEFORE ALL FLTS.
