Narrative:

During the landing phase, the basket was in contact with the snow-covered ground and dragging approximately 8-10 KTS. After dragging approximately 10', the lip of the basket dug into the soft snow, tipping the basket and ejecting me. The balloon with passenger (minus my weight) then took and was landed by the passenger almost 2 hours later, with the help (via radio) of 2 other balloon pilots who were chasing on the ground. Factor affecting quality of human performance was inexperience with high wind lndgs. Decisions/actions: I will hav more positive control of my vent/valve line during lndgs.
