Narrative:
While returning from coldwater, mi (D96) to home field (smd) noticed slight loss of power. Tried to maintain as much altitude as possible approaching landing at smd because of this problem. May have entered arsa at 2300'. Floor at this point is 2000 MSL. Winds gusting to 18 KTS from 180 degree. Made 2 attempts to land on runway 13 at smd but was too high. Poor climb performance on go-around convinced me to land on runway 23 before engine performance deteriorated further. Rolled to stop before intersection with runway 13. Another aircraft landed on runway 13 at same time. I did announce intentions on radio.
