Narrative:
I arrived at the gate 30 minutes prior to departure; and was going through my security and equipment checks. Op sup asked if we were ready; and I said no; I was still doing my checks. He said there were a number of wheelchairs. I told him I understood; but had to finish my check first. Before I was finished; I look up; and another agent had brought down wheelchair passengers. He said he was told we were ready. Operations supervisors are pressuring flight attendants and operations agents to board before having time to complete a thorough security and equipment check. Lining up pre boards in the jetway is starting the boarding process before ensuring the aircraft is ready to go. Ops supervisors need to be aware of what is in their manual. Coordinated with the a flight attendant; before deciding to board. I understand the need for on time performance; but security checks are in place for a reason.
