Narrative:

On climb out from dfw, clearance to FL230, assigned heading 270 degrees to intercept dfw departure. As turn was commenced to intercept 262 degree right dfw, a south wind was noted and slight overshoot occurred (265 degree right). ZFW assigned FL180 as aircraft passed FL182. Altitude checked at FL183 and aircraft returned to FL180. We queried center about reason for altitude assignment. Center replied traffic inbound. Flight proceeded normally to destination. Perhaps inbound and outbnd corridors are too close.
