Narrative:
We landed runway 12R. The tower instructed us to turn right at taxiway november, taxi to the gate. I verified the location of taxiway north, the last one before the intersection with runway 03-21. As we approached the taxiway we noticed a lighted sign which read north. The sign is located southeast of the taxiway (past the taxiway) just before the intersection of the 2 runways. We took the time to look at the color of the lights to see that it was the runway just beyond the sign and not north. The next crew may make the mistake we avoided. The location of the taxiway sing is very confusing. Given that the 2 runways are, at times, used simultaneously, I believe that there exists a real hazard in a potential runway incursion at sat. Our cockpits are busy enough west/O added pitfalls such as this. The sign should be just before the taxiway with another sign for runway 03-21, where the taxiway sign currently is.
