Narrative:
We discovered after landing that the copilot's boom microphone was hot. The switch was found to be defective. We could not transmit or receive on either VHF radio for a # of mins. We therefore squawked 7600 and maintained VFR conditions and returned to the airport and landed. We were able to restore some communication with ATC prior to landing.
