Narrative:

Aircraft X proceeded from reporter's sector into a subsequent sector without a pointout or handoff from reporter's sector due to misreading the cleared route of flight. We work numerous flts every day to ewr from the southwest. The normal route after djb is J29 J584 SLT6. Aircraft X was proceeding, after djb, via direct yng direct slt. This route takes the aircraft into a different sector. I wasn't aware of the different routing and failed to make a pointout or handoff to the appropriate sector. I feel a factor affecting my performance is only 9 hours between shifts (from a swing shift to a day shift the next morning) with a 1 hour 15 min commute to and from work resulting in not enough rest.
