Narrative:

On flight into atl; we were given a heading of 180 from atl approach. We were following a (other carrier) aircraft; and got into his wake turbulence. My first officer was flying and with the distraction of (other carrier) wakes; he got off the heading [for a short time]. I called the heading on him and he turned back to our assigned 180 degrees heading. Back established on the 180 heading atlanta approach questioned our heading. At this time we were back at 180 and I responded 180. Shortly after; we were given a landing clearance.
