Narrative:
Instrument and student 36 min into a local training flight experienced a power loss (of undetermined origin) and performed a precautionary off airport landing. Upon inspection by mechanic, small amount of water found in 'T' fitting of fuel lines in belly of aircraft. No other problems observed. Aircraft was then restarted and static runup performed. Satisfactory. Aircraft then flown out of field and returned to base airport. Possible cause, freezing of water in fuel lines. Outside air temperature was 27 degree F. Possible correction, drain sump placed in 'T' fitting in fuel line.
