Narrative:
After taking off from the broomfield jefferson county airport, the student retracted the gear. I heard a loud thump and become suspicious. We turned down wind and I tried to cycle the gear down, but did not get a green light. We requested a low pass so the tower could check the gear. They were not sure the gear was down, so we left the pattern and went to the practice area. We went through the operators manual and tried all the procedures. Then we called our FBO to have one of the mechanics check the gear on another fly-by. The mechanic said the gear was not locked down, so we went back out to the practice area and gave the tower time to get everything ready for our landing. We came back to the airport and made a normal approach. When we had the runway made, we shut down both engines and landed with the nose wheel partially retracted. No one was hurt and there was no fire.

Title: LIGHT TWIN LANDS WITH NOSE WHEEL PARTIALLY EXTENDED.
Narrative: AFTER TAKING OFF FROM THE BROOMFIELD JEFFERSON COUNTY ARPT, THE STUDENT RETRACTED THE GEAR. I HEARD A LOUD THUMP AND BECOME SUSPICIOUS. WE TURNED DOWN WIND AND I TRIED TO CYCLE THE GEAR DOWN, BUT DID NOT GET A GREEN LIGHT. WE REQUESTED A LOW PASS SO THE TWR COULD CHK THE GEAR. THEY WERE NOT SURE THE GEAR WAS DOWN, SO WE LEFT THE PATTERN AND WENT TO THE PRACTICE AREA. WE WENT THROUGH THE OPERATORS MANUAL AND TRIED ALL THE PROCS. THEN WE CALLED OUR FBO TO HAVE ONE OF THE MECHS CHK THE GEAR ON ANOTHER FLY-BY. THE MECH SAID THE GEAR WAS NOT LOCKED DOWN, SO WE WENT BACK OUT TO THE PRACTICE AREA AND GAVE THE TWR TIME TO GET EVERYTHING READY FOR OUR LNDG. WE CAME BACK TO THE ARPT AND MADE A NORMAL APCH. WHEN WE HAD THE RWY MADE, WE SHUT DOWN BOTH ENGS AND LANDED WITH THE NOSE WHEEL PARTIALLY RETRACTED. NO ONE WAS HURT AND THERE WAS NO FIRE.
