Narrative:

I had just gone on my rest break and was awakened within 10 mins. We had a flap drive EICAS message. Expanded flaps indicated left inboard trailing edge flap was extended. PF (first officer) slowed below mach .79 and we completed FM procedure. Captain spoke with maintenance control and dispatch and decided to divert to ZZZZ. We coordinated with control for clearance to ZZZZ and clearance to dump fuel. Using jettison checklist; we dumped approximately 35000 pounds beginning at 27000 ft and finishing at 16000 ft. We landed at ZZZZ on runway 16R without inboard trailing edge flaps. Approximately landing gross weight of 620.0 pounds; autobrakes 4; reference 184. Maintenance replaced the flap position transmitter. After approximately 2 hours 45 mins; we took off for ZZZ. Rest of flight was uneventful.
