Narrative:
At pushback after clearance was received from ramp tower; an embraer regional jet passed on the charlie line behind our aircraft. The tug driver responded quickly and brought the tug and aircraft to an immediate stop. He advised us that the stop was for an rj taxiing behind us. The ramp tower advised that the jet wasn't talking to anyone and had not been cleared in on either the charlie or bravo taxi lines. After a completed normal pushback and a release; we taxied to charlie south and noticed the aircraft in question parked. Report being provided to document ground crew action to prevent a ground collision. Good work on the part of the tug driver. There would have been no way we could have seen the aircraft passing behind us.
