Narrative:
Landing at gcn airport I was unable to contact the tower by radio. I continued into the pattern announcing my intentions as I proceeded for runway 21. I checked the tower and saw a green light for landing. Upon touchdown, I felt the left wing settle lower than I felt should be normal. I added power to go around and felt a scrape, later to find out it was the gear door. I successfully regained flight and finally established contact with the tower due to the frequency being aft 1 digit. I explained my situation and asked the tower to check wheels down. They confirmed that they appeared to be down and I landed successfully. After inspection of the aircraft, I found no airframe damage but I did ding the propeller tips. I left the plane there to be repaired, rented a car and drove home to san diego.

Narrative: LNDG AT GCN ARPT I WAS UNABLE TO CONTACT THE TWR BY RADIO. I CONTINUED INTO THE PATTERN ANNOUNCING MY INTENTIONS AS I PROCEEDED FOR RWY 21. I CHKED THE TWR AND SAW A GREEN LIGHT FOR LNDG. UPON TOUCHDOWN, I FELT THE L WING SETTLE LOWER THAN I FELT SHOULD BE NORMAL. I ADDED PWR TO GAR AND FELT A SCRAPE, LATER TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE GEAR DOOR. I SUCCESSFULLY REGAINED FLT AND FINALLY ESTABLISHED CONTACT WITH THE TWR DUE TO THE FREQ BEING AFT 1 DIGIT. I EXPLAINED MY SITUATION AND ASKED THE TWR TO CHK WHEELS DOWN. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THEY APPEARED TO BE DOWN AND I LANDED SUCCESSFULLY. AFTER INSPECTION OF THE ACFT, I FOUND NO AIRFRAME DAMAGE BUT I DID DING THE PROP TIPS. I LEFT THE PLANE THERE TO BE REPAIRED, RENTED A CAR AND DROVE HOME TO SAN DIEGO.
