Narrative:
I was assigned to do an airstart. It seemed like the crew was not ready and very confused as to when and how to complete the task at hand. I waited for the signal from my co-worker to start the unit. It seemed like the crew was not ready because they wanted to keep the pc (preconditioned) air on the aircraft as the airstart unit was running. The pc air hose is attached at the bottom of the number two engine; which is very dangerous while the engine is running. Pc air got disconnected before the air start unit was started. As I was given the signal to start the air unit I noticed the number one engine was going. That is also very dangerous because I have to disconnect from under the number one engine. The lead on the gate tried to tell the captain two times to start number two only. But he disregarded all direction from him and started the number one which I was under completing the air start. I ask[ed] the captain to please stop the engine so I can disconnect from the aircraft but he seemed frustrated at the situation and just walked away from me back into his seat. The jet bridge was still up to the plane. I was able to disconnect without getting hurt or any damage to the aircraft.
