Narrative:
After obtaining a WX brief for a VFR flight to truckee which reported our WX to be VFR but contained a NOTAM for runway 28-10 at truckee to be closed, my student and myself departed for truckee. The flight went uneventful as we were doing our training until we approached truckee. We called truckee unicom about 15 mi out for a runway advisory. The woman giving the advisory from truckee is FBO gave us the advisory 'that truckee was using runway 01 and left traffic' and gave the current altimeter setting (she gave no mention that runway 29-10 was closed). While giving the student dual while approaching the airport, setting up for a 45 degree entry to runway 01 the student made a statement that the runway in use was runway 10. From our present position on the 45 degree to runway 01 we entered a left base for runway 10 and landed on the closed runway! In being so busy coming into the airport while giving instruction I let the student 'FLIP-flop' the runways on me. I think in the future it's a good idea to overfly the uncontrolled airport taking a good look while concentrating more on the task at hand and a little less on giving dual.

Title: FLT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT PLT LANDED ON CLOSED RWY.
Narrative: AFTER OBTAINING A WX BRIEF FOR A VFR FLT TO TRUCKEE WHICH REPORTED OUR WX TO BE VFR BUT CONTAINED A NOTAM FOR RWY 28-10 AT TRUCKEE TO BE CLOSED, MY STUDENT AND MYSELF DEPARTED FOR TRUCKEE. THE FLT WENT UNEVENTFUL AS WE WERE DOING OUR TRAINING UNTIL WE APCHED TRUCKEE. WE CALLED TRUCKEE UNICOM ABOUT 15 MI OUT FOR A RWY ADVISORY. THE WOMAN GIVING THE ADVISORY FROM TRUCKEE IS FBO GAVE US THE ADVISORY 'THAT TRUCKEE WAS USING RWY 01 AND LEFT TFC' AND GAVE THE CURRENT ALTIMETER SETTING (SHE GAVE NO MENTION THAT RWY 29-10 WAS CLOSED). WHILE GIVING THE STUDENT DUAL WHILE APCHING THE ARPT, SETTING UP FOR A 45 DEG ENTRY TO RWY 01 THE STUDENT MADE A STATEMENT THAT THE RWY IN USE WAS RWY 10. FROM OUR PRESENT POSITION ON THE 45 DEG TO RWY 01 WE ENTERED A LEFT BASE FOR RWY 10 AND LANDED ON THE CLOSED RWY! IN BEING SO BUSY COMING INTO THE ARPT WHILE GIVING INSTRUCTION I LET THE STUDENT 'FLIP-FLOP' THE RWYS ON ME. I THINK IN THE FUTURE IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO OVERFLY THE UNCONTROLLED ARPT TAKING A GOOD LOOK WHILE CONCENTRATING MORE ON THE TASK AT HAND AND A LITTLE LESS ON GIVING DUAL.
