Narrative:
After takeoff the FMS quit working as well as the navigation system. ATC told us to turn left. The aircraft turned right. We immediately contacted ATC and stated our navigation system quit working. We returned to ZZZ by using an ASR approach.

Title: CRJ-700 flight crew reported returning to departure airport after their FMS dumped their flight plan and was displaying incorrect present position.
Narrative: After takeoff the FMS quit working as well as the navigation system. ATC told us to turn left. The aircraft turned right. We immediately contacted ATC and stated our navigation system quit working. We returned to ZZZ by using an ASR approach.
