Narrative:

This was a re-position flight for [network charter] later that evening to rio for the olympics. Weather was affecting traffic flow and the preflight briefing with the dispatcher made it clear that this was a high priority flight for the charter. The dispatcher said that dispatch could work around the advertised ground stops and we would get right out. That is what happened. In cruise; either chicago or cleveland center asked us what was the nature of the medical emergency. I asked what he meant. He said ATC had been told we needed special handling due to a medical emergency and he was curious as to the nature of the emergency. I told him it was an empty ferry flight and we had no medical emergency and that I understood it was simply a matter of the company wanting the aircraft [at destination] as soon as possible for a charter. It seems that the airline told ATC something that wasn't true to facilitate the schedule.
