Narrative:
While climbing through 2000 ft following [a] B777; first officer called for flaps to 1. As we reached flap retract speed; the airspeed spiked into the barber pole. Airspeed indicated 240-241 kts and then came down. We retracted flaps and continued to [our destination]. After landing and at the gate; the flight report showed no malfunctions or messages. Captain reported flap overspeed to aircraft maintainer and wrote it up in aircraft log book.consider more spacing behind heavy aircraft.
