Narrative:
I departed VFR from nut tree airport in my cessna 152. Weather was 10 SM VFR. I departed runway 20; and announced I was taking off from runway 20 and would depart to the north off the downwind leg. I called out my position on the upwind; crosswind; and downwind legs on the CTAF frequency 122.7. Turning onto my downwind leg; I was flying at the tpa [traffic pattern altitude] of 1;117 and noticed an aircraft entering a 45 to right downwind to runway 20; but flying abnormally wide and high (I estimate at around 1;500 ft). I again announced that I was established on the downwind leg. At this point; the aircraft turned right; making a right base to runway 20; and began a descent with a direct intercept towards my aircraft. I announced on CTAF that their right turn towards me was creating a potential collision as they were turning and descending into me. I began an avoidance turn to the right so as to avoid a collision and again called out on the radio that their maneuver was placing both aircraft in danger. At this point the aircraft made a level left turn. I estimate both aircraft came within 95 feet of each other. On the CTAF frequency I asked the other pilot why they weren't flying at the standard tpa and the pilot explained that it was the first flight of this particular aircraft and that for first flights they liked to fly 'high'.

Title: C152 pilot reported an NMAC with another aircraft in the pattern at VCB airport.
Narrative: I departed VFR from Nut Tree airport in my Cessna 152. Weather was 10 SM VFR. I departed RWY 20; and announced I was taking off from RWY 20 and would depart to the north off the downwind leg. I called out my position on the upwind; crosswind; and downwind legs on the CTAF frequency 122.7. Turning onto my downwind leg; I was flying at the TPA [traffic pattern altitude] of 1;117 and noticed an aircraft entering a 45 to right downwind to RWY 20; but flying abnormally wide and high (I estimate at around 1;500 ft). I again announced that I was established on the downwind leg. At this point; the aircraft turned right; making a right base to RWY 20; and began a descent with a direct intercept towards my aircraft.
