Narrative:
While on a visual approach to runway 4L at bos at approximately 500 ft AGL; ATC instructed us to go-around. Just prior to the go-around we observed an [air carrier] aircraft cross the hold short line at runway 4L (our landing runway). Simultaneously ATC commanded the aircraft to 'stop'. They then commanded us to go-around.we executed the go-around maneuver and returned to the same runway for a normal landing. After arriving at the gate I notified dispatch and maintenance control of the go-around and entered the event into the logbook.
