Narrative:

Taxiing out for takeoff we were told to hold short of runway; as we were next to go. We changed to tower frequency and pulled up to the hold short lines. The tower frequency was very busy as was the airspace. We were cleared for takeoff; with a cessna on a two mile final; tower told the cessna to go around; which he did. We then taxied on to the runway to take off. All checks were done and power was brought to the takeoff setting. Shortly after takeoff power was set; tower said; 'our call sign; taxi into position and hold' followed shortly by 'disregard'. However; I had already started the aborted takeoff as I didn't know what the controller wanted and wasn't going to take the plane into the air with differing commands.the abort was a nonevent as it was low speed 50-60 knots and we taxied clear of the runway. We switched to ground and asked them what happened. They came back on a couple minutes later and said it was their mistake and they got call signs mixed up and it was their fault and they were sorry. We later took off and flew an uneventful trip. We discussed the abort with the passenger and answered all his questions.
