Narrative:
During taxi out bwi controller gave us directions to follow [another carrier] via 'C' to runway 28. I turned on taxi light and proceeded. There was a heavy parked on 'P' facing north. As I approached the intersection of 'C' and 'P' I heard ground give [the heavy] clearance to taxi. Suddenly [the heavy] turned on his taxi light and proceeded into the intersection with great haste. I quickly braked to a stop. The number 3 flight attendant fell in the forward galley; but was unhurt. I queried ATC who quickly apologized. I was most upset with [the heavy] for gunning it into the intersection when I was clearly moving with my light on. [The heavy] responded in a callous manner that they had clearance.
Original NASA ASRS Text
