Narrative:

At cruise at FL330 aircraft entered an area of severe turbulence and windshear. Upon entering; airspeed increased approximately 15 knots into the zipper then decreased approximately 30 knots. Autopilot disconnected and aircraft climbed approximately 1000 ft. Event lasted approximately 1 minute. Aircraft control was regained and stabilized. We returned to our assigned cruising altitude of FL330 and notified ATC of altitude deviation and severe turbulence/windshear encounter. Aircraft entered an unforeseen area of severe weather not seen visually or on radar.
