Narrative:
Flew the hhood 3 arrival into pdx; at normal profile speed. We were queried by ATC for our speed and replied 285 knots. The controller stated we should be at 280. I realized then I missed the box note on the arrival that states fly planned mach until 280 and then descend at 280.speeds should be posted at the fixes; as per the majority of arrivals in the system. As far as I know; pdx is the only place I've seen a box note like this.
