Narrative:
When we reached 10;000 feet we got our double chime and we; the fas; got up to make the inflight announcement and prepare for service. After a few minutes of getting ready we heard a loud bang followed by a vibration. We looked at each other and quickly decided to stow everything back until we got more information. We secured the passengers and ourselves. The captain called us and he said that we lost an engine and we were going back to [the departure airport]. He also said that everything was under control and we need to prepare the cabin for landing in 15 minutes. He made an announcement telling the passengers what was going on and that they should follow our instructions. We made an announcement confirming the captain and we secured the cabin for landing. Finally we landed secure and safe indicating to the passengers that they need to remain seated with the seatbelt fastened until the aircraft is parked at the gate. After we parked at the gate we got the PA to open the door and we began to deplane. Passengers were calm and grateful that we bring them back safe. No crew member or passenger were injured.
