Narrative:
Flight into cak, the crew reported to tower part fell off aircraft out of day. Part was found when the day FAA tower required a runway check. Flight departed cak west/O amended release adding the cdl nacelle strut access door to the release, operated by same crew. I am the dispatcher. I had a phone conversation with the captain concerning the incident when he arrived at cak. I told him I would amend the release when our maintenance gave me the cdl. He said he would go back on the aircraft and wait for me to send the amendment via ACARS. I telephoned maintenance requesting number and verbage of cdl and was told the captain told them that he wasn't going to write it up in the logbook. I did send an ACARS message to the crew telling him to write it up and give it to maintenance. He didn't acknowledge the ACARS message. I called our cak operations and was not able to get through. My efforts failed, the flight departed west/O an amended release on schedule.
