Narrative:
During this period of time, the 03 sector was severely impacted by thunderstorms. I began getting aircraft west/O flight plans because they had deviated from other centers. Tmu claimed that they had 15 mi in trail on dca/iad/bwi, however they did not depart as such. The sector went out of control, I ran out of altitudes; the system was out of control because tmu failed to slow down traffic! I was also required to rerte traffic on J6--that was off of north.Y. Airports! (Ones that had been in the air for an hour). I was working with an l-side who could not keep up with all of the pointouts and handoffs, and then the supervisor asked if tmu could rerte inbound traffic opp direction into the sector--and they did! I'm certainly glad that I wasn't flying on one of the aircraft that I was controling.
