Narrative:

The other flight attendant and I were preparing the cart for beverage service. [The other flight attendant] was breaking some ice up that was too chunky to scoop out for drinks. Suddenly; with no warning or prior turbulence; we hit the edge of a storm or something. [The other flight attendant] hit the wall and ceiling. I flew into the exit door; hitting my head; then once again slid the opposite way and was yanked violently into the air where I smashed my head into the ceiling. Disoriented; I was thrown back down; landing onto my right knee. The service cart was still out and we could not control it so the service cart started to essentially crush me as there was too much pressure for me to even stand up - every time I tried I was knocked down again. [The other flight attendant] used his strength to get it away from me but by doing this he was also slammed into the exit door with the service cart smashing into his stomach. [The incident lasted] about 12 seconds. No passengers were injured. We both went down the aisle and asked everyone; also making an announcement. First class passenger's drinks flew into the air and spilled on them; however no glass was broken. I asked each parent holding a lap child; twice; if they were for sure okay.it cannot be prevented if we hit something they could not see - but hopefully it does not happen to anyone else. We were both extremely vulnerable and it is amazing no passengers were injured.
