Narrative:
Approach changed runways close in; due to the weather going below CAT III minimums. We had briefed 34L and were changed to 34R. When we got the change I said I will brief it; and he asked if I wanted him to change the runway in the FMC. I said that's fine. As I was getting my 34R chart he said '34R in the box'; and executed it before I could verify what he had done. I looked down and saw a route discontinuity and that we had a little less than a mile before the FMC had no track. I told him to manually put the next point in and verified it. ATC then gave us vectors for the approach due to there not being many aircraft able for CAT III.
