Narrative:
Discussing the fissk 4 STAR; the first officer and I noticed note 1 that referred to an approach that we noticed was not in the FMC database; nor was it available in the approach charts for mdw. Specifically; I am referring to the RNAV (GPS) Z 22L. This is referenced in note 1 on this STAR; and it is also mentioned on the panng 3 STAR. I have called the as soon as possible office and discussed the observation in our jepps publications that are currently more than a year effective. Since the referenced approach to runway 22L at mdw is not available in our FMC database and/or available publications on the efb; appropriate attention should be made for possible changes and/or updates.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: Air carrier Captain reported they were assigned the MDW FISSK4 RNAV Arrival; STERE transition to Runway 22L. His aircraft's FMC no longer contained the RNAV Z (GPS) 22L because the 238 degree approach track transition to the runway created the potential for a low altitude unstabilized approach.
