Narrative:
Pilot was cleared to land 'at pilots own risk' on runway xy. Runway xy was closed due to concern over braking action due to ice on runway. Landing was made with no issue as braking action was adequate.pilot deemed runway xy to be safest runway to land on because; airport is familiar; tower and ground crew were relaying conditions; freezing rain in the area would have to be flown through if attempting an alternate; and nearby airports' real time conditions were unknown.pilot is unsure if any violation was committed.
