Narrative:
The ramp conditions in both lga and bos are very dangerous with regards to FOD. This past month a company aircraft picked up a paper/styrofoam cup in lga and subseqently aborted a takeoff due to a completely failed engine on takeoff--a very dangerous situation! I realize this is probably a lessee responsibility, but it is not being taken care of and needs to be addressed by the lessor; i.e., the airport operators or whoever it takes to enforce the need for clean ramps. (I am specifically familiar with company ramps at bos and lga, but it is a general problem.) if left unattended this will lead to more failures and perhaps more serious incident/accident.
