Narrative:
We received a GPWS terrain warning 15 miles northeast of the eug airport. We were at 4400 ft. We executed the escape maneuver and climbed to 6000 ft. The highest terrain in the area we were in is 3400ft. We were being vectored by cascade approach for a ILS to runway 16R. Cascade approach advised us that this has happened to other aircraft in the same area.
