Narrative:

We were descending on the new comix 1 STAR. Center started us down late. We had a 70 knot tailwind and center directed us to fly 270 knots. All these reasons prevented us from making the crossing restriction we were given. We notified center we would not make it as soon as we determined that it was not possible; and the controller asked us why not. We told him. He questioned our reasons as if they were not valid; and then said nothing; thus producing the situation that we did not make an altitude restriction without having relief from ATC.the older bayvu arrival and the new comix arrival have crossing restrictions that are very hard to make with the airspeed and altitude requirements; especially with a tailwind. They should be revised to have more reasonable restrictions.
