Narrative:
East high and east low sectors are continually combined due to frequency 123.85 being OTS. These 2 sectors handle a lot of en route traffic and need to be split more often, especially with summer traffic. With 123.85 OTS, bdl has 5 sectors and only 4 frequencys. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter stated that problem had been corrected by management. The 123.85 frequency was removed and replaced with another frequency. This occurred approximately 2 weeks after this report was filed by the reporter.

Title: 2 TRACON SECTORS BEING COMBINED TOO MUCH DUE TO A FREQ BEING OUT OF SERVICE.
Narrative: E HIGH AND E LOW SECTORS ARE CONTINUALLY COMBINED DUE TO FREQ 123.85 BEING OTS. THESE 2 SECTORS HANDLE A LOT OF ENRTE TFC AND NEED TO BE SPLIT MORE OFTEN, ESPECIALLY WITH SUMMER TFC. WITH 123.85 OTS, BDL HAS 5 SECTORS AND ONLY 4 FREQS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR STATED THAT PROB HAD BEEN CORRECTED BY MGMNT. THE 123.85 FREQ WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH ANOTHER FREQ. THIS OCCURRED APPROX 2 WKS AFTER THIS RPT WAS FILED BY THE RPTR.
