Narrative:
I was departing visibility on runway 12, which I had been told earlier was in use by fat approach control, and which was in accordance with wind direction, when I heard an aircraft call in on final for the opp runway, runway 30. I immediately requested the aircraft's distance from the airport on final and the pilot responded, 'about 3/4 of a mi.' I responded that I was taking off on runway 12 and did not have him in sight. I also asked if he had broadcast his position earlier. He responded that he had me in sight lifting off, and that he had made a previous call. Upon reaching a safe altitude and speed, I immediately turned left and climbed out on a left downwind departure. I then heard the other aircraft call downwind for runway 30. An air carrier approaching visibility then broadcast on unicom that they had heard my xmissions 'loud and clear.' I had monitored unicom frequency for at lest 5 mins prior to taking the runway and heard no response and observed no other aircraft in the vicinity. When I heard the first call from the other aircraft (type unknown) an abort was impossible. I believe the other aircraft didn't switch to unicom until short final.

Title: CLOSE PROX ATX SMT ON TKOF AND UNK ACFT OPPOSITE DIRECTION FINAL APCH TO VIS.
Narrative: I WAS DEPARTING VIS ON RWY 12, WHICH I HAD BEEN TOLD EARLIER WAS IN USE BY FAT APCH CTL, AND WHICH WAS IN ACCORDANCE WITH WIND DIRECTION, WHEN I HEARD AN ACFT CALL IN ON FINAL FOR THE OPP RWY, RWY 30. I IMMEDIATELY REQUESTED THE ACFT'S DISTANCE FROM THE ARPT ON FINAL AND THE PLT RESPONDED, 'ABOUT 3/4 OF A MI.' I RESPONDED THAT I WAS TAKING OFF ON RWY 12 AND DID NOT HAVE HIM IN SIGHT. I ALSO ASKED IF HE HAD BROADCAST HIS POS EARLIER. HE RESPONDED THAT HE HAD ME IN SIGHT LIFTING OFF, AND THAT HE HAD MADE A PREVIOUS CALL. UPON REACHING A SAFE ALT AND SPD, I IMMEDIATELY TURNED LEFT AND CLBED OUT ON A LEFT DOWNWIND DEP. I THEN HEARD THE OTHER ACFT CALL DOWNWIND FOR RWY 30. AN ACR APCHING VIS THEN BROADCAST ON UNICOM THAT THEY HAD HEARD MY XMISSIONS 'LOUD AND CLR.' I HAD MONITORED UNICOM FREQ FOR AT LEST 5 MINS PRIOR TO TAKING THE RWY AND HEARD NO RESPONSE AND OBSERVED NO OTHER ACFT IN THE VICINITY. WHEN I HEARD THE FIRST CALL FROM THE OTHER ACFT (TYPE UNKNOWN) AN ABORT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. I BELIEVE THE OTHER ACFT DIDN'T SWITCH TO UNICOM UNTIL SHORT FINAL.
