Narrative:
During landing and approach at dfw, while being vectored for a visibility approach to land on runway 35R at dfw, we were told by approach control to change our landing runway to 31R while we were passing just west of downtown dallas, and to expect a stadium visibility approach. There was no mention of any runway restriction by either approach control or the tower, and a landing was made with a rollout to the end. As we cleared the runway, we heard the tower clear an air carrier plane to land on the same runway, with the message that the last few hundred ft were closed. ATIS did not mention this, nor were we informed about this at any time. There were signs of any restrictions, barriers, barricades or any type of visibility clues that would indicate to us that the whole runway was not available to us to land. If the last portion of the runway was indeed closed, we should have been so advised.

Title: LGT CLEARED TO LAND WITH CHANGE OF RWY. LAST PORTION OF RWY CLOSED.
Narrative: DURING LNDG AND APCH AT DFW, WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR A VIS APCH TO LAND ON RWY 35R AT DFW, WE WERE TOLD BY APCH CTL TO CHANGE OUR LNDG RWY TO 31R WHILE WE WERE PASSING JUST W OF DOWNTOWN DALLAS, AND TO EXPECT A STADIUM VIS APCH. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF ANY RWY RESTRICTION BY EITHER APCH CTL OR THE TWR, AND A LNDG WAS MADE WITH A ROLLOUT TO THE END. AS WE CLRED THE RWY, WE HEARD THE TWR CLR AN ACR PLANE TO LAND ON THE SAME RWY, WITH THE MESSAGE THAT THE LAST FEW HUNDRED FT WERE CLOSED. ATIS DID NOT MENTION THIS, NOR WERE WE INFORMED ABOUT THIS AT ANY TIME. THERE WERE SIGNS OF ANY RESTRICTIONS, BARRIERS, BARRICADES OR ANY TYPE OF VIS CLUES THAT WOULD INDICATE TO US THAT THE WHOLE RWY WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO US TO LAND. IF THE LAST PORTION OF THE RWY WAS INDEED CLOSED, WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SO ADVISED.
