Narrative:
On 5/fri/90 I encountered a near miss with a red and white small aircraft Y. I was at 1100' MSL south along the shoreline slightly off shore abeam the oceanside pier. The small aircraft Y was northbound along the same shoreline at the same altitude. We both turned right about the same time (less than 1/2 closing) to avoid collision. The aircraft passed off to my left within approximately 300' lateral sep. I was on palomar tower frequency and asked if tower was talking with an small aircraft Y. They replied in the negative. I reported the near miss to the tower. I did not see an aircraft number.
