Narrative:

Departure from abq, sandia 1 departure, we were on departure assigned heading of 310 degrees to intercept 348 degree right abq VOR. Several aircraft had been pointed out by departure control. We had seen them. Copilot called out small aircraft, 2 O'clock. I looked at him, level as he passed behind us. From the time I saw him till he passed was only a few seconds. Advised departure control. They commented no contacts in that area. Scary! Regular departure route, major city and VFR traffic conflict. Thank goodness for alert copilot.
