Narrative:

Performed run-up in preparation for departure runway 17. Was monitoring radio 122.7 for traffic during taxi and run-up. After run-up was complete I proceeded to hold line. Stopped looked for traffic and saw none then announced 'concord traffic departing runway 17 concord'. There was no radio traffic heard before this time. I then proceeded to runway 17 which has a displaced threshold. I started a slow taxi to beginning of runway. When I stopped and prepared for takeoff, at beginning of runway, an aircraft announced 'don't you look for traffic before departure'. I replied 'usually' and at that time an aircraft flew overhead and performed a go around. During the entire time I was stopped at the end (beginning) of runway, aircraft (identification unknown) asked for registration number which I gave. If pilot had announced his landing position at downwind, turn to base and certainly on final I would have heard him and could have avoided any conflict, in high wing aircraft it is very difficult to see traffic above.

Title: SMA DEPARTING UNCONTROLLED ARPT ENTERS RWY IN FRONT OF ACFT ON FINAL APCH FORCING A GO AROUND.

Narrative: PERFORMED RUN-UP IN PREPARATION FOR DEP RWY 17. WAS MONITORING RADIO 122.7 FOR TFC DURING TAXI AND RUN-UP. AFTER RUN-UP WAS COMPLETE I PROCEEDED TO HOLD LINE. STOPPED LOOKED FOR TFC AND SAW NONE THEN ANNOUNCED 'CONCORD TFC DEPARTING RWY 17 CONCORD'. THERE WAS NO RADIO TFC HEARD BEFORE THIS TIME. I THEN PROCEEDED TO RWY 17 WHICH HAS A DISPLACED THRESHOLD. I STARTED A SLOW TAXI TO BEGINNING OF RWY. WHEN I STOPPED AND PREPARED FOR TKOF, AT BEGINNING OF RWY, AN ACFT ANNOUNCED 'DON'T YOU LOOK FOR TFC BEFORE DEP'. I REPLIED 'USUALLY' AND AT THAT TIME AN ACFT FLEW OVERHEAD AND PERFORMED A GO AROUND. DURING THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS STOPPED AT THE END (BEGINNING) OF RWY, ACFT (ID UNKNOWN) ASKED FOR REGISTRATION NUMBER WHICH I GAVE. IF PLT HAD ANNOUNCED HIS LNDG POS AT DOWNWIND, TURN TO BASE AND CERTAINLY ON FINAL I WOULD HAVE HEARD HIM AND COULD HAVE AVOIDED ANY CONFLICT, IN HIGH WING ACFT IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE TFC ABOVE.
