Narrative:

After departing sun I experienced communication failure. Squawked 7600 to sna. Flew flight plan according to FARS at FL350. Reaching bfl on J-5 descended to VFR conditions towards palmdale off arwy. Proceeded to sna in VFR conditions, north of TCA (lax). Reaching sna tower gave green light 'ok' for landing. Tower called FBO to advise a call to lax center. I did so and area manager advised I should not have descended off arwy to VFR until below positive control area. Area manager states no action will be taken.
