Narrative:
Our aircraft, flight XXX was cleared into position and hold on runway 13R. Approximately one min later, company flight xxy was cleared into position and hold on runway 13L. Approximately one min later tower cleared 'flight XXX for takeoff runway 13R'. We read back the clearance using proper terminology and began our takeoff. After takeoff, we noticed company flight climbing off the other runway abeam us and at the same altitude. Normally departures are staggered, so we knew somebody had rogered the wrong call sign and the transmission had been blocked by the other aircraft. We were aware that company flight xxy was on frequency and in position on the other runway, however tower did not mention that similar call signs were on frequency and in position for takeoff. We believe the other aircraft rogered our clearance, but we could have made the same mistake had we not been aware of the other aircraft's presence. Both tower and the other aircraft should have been more heads up.

Title: TWO MLG ACFT SAME COMPANY SIMILAR IDENT ON PARALLEL RWY IN TKOF POSITION. XXX CLEARED FOR TKOF. AFTER AIRBORNE NOTICED OTHER MLG XXY IN SIMULTANEOUS TKOF AND CLIMB.
Narrative: OUR ACFT, FLT XXX WAS CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 13R. APPROX ONE MIN LATER, COMPANY FLT XXY WAS CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 13L. APPROX ONE MIN LATER TWR CLRED 'FLT XXX FOR TKOF RWY 13R'. WE READ BACK THE CLRNC USING PROPER TERMINOLOGY AND BEGAN OUR TKOF. AFTER TKOF, WE NOTICED COMPANY FLT CLBING OFF THE OTHER RWY ABEAM US AND AT THE SAME ALT. NORMALLY DEPS ARE STAGGERED, SO WE KNEW SOMEBODY HAD ROGERED THE WRONG CALL SIGN AND THE XMISSION HAD BEEN BLOCKED BY THE OTHER ACFT. WE WERE AWARE THAT COMPANY FLT XXY WAS ON FREQ AND IN POS ON THE OTHER RWY, HOWEVER TWR DID NOT MENTION THAT SIMILAR CALL SIGNS WERE ON FREQ AND IN POS FOR TKOF. WE BELIEVE THE OTHER ACFT ROGERED OUR CLRNC, BUT WE COULD HAVE MADE THE SAME MISTAKE HAD WE NOT BEEN AWARE OF THE OTHER ACFT'S PRESENCE. BOTH TWR AND THE OTHER ACFT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE HEADS UP.
