Narrative:
I was notified by ATC that I was off altitude. My autoplt took me past FL280 at FL28.3 I disconnected autoplt and leveled off as not to alarm my passengers. And went back to FL280. The clear center said that the altitude alarm went off at FL28.5. I called cle quality insurance, they said a report would be sent to cle gato for further review. And a copy of the report from quality insurance would be sent to me. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Reporter stated that the FAA has decided to take action but that he might get a written letter of warning in his file and/or be required to take some remedial training. He also said that ATC said he caused a less than standard separation at 3 mi horizontal and 700' vertical.

Title: CPR LTT HAS ALT DEVIATION WHICH CAUSES LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: I WAS NOTIFIED BY ATC THAT I WAS OFF ALT. MY AUTOPLT TOOK ME PAST FL280 AT FL28.3 I DISCONNECTED AUTOPLT AND LEVELED OFF AS NOT TO ALARM MY PAXS. AND WENT BACK TO FL280. THE CLR CTR SAID THAT THE ALT ALARM WENT OFF AT FL28.5. I CALLED CLE QUALITY INSURANCE, THEY SAID A RPT WOULD BE SENT TO CLE GATO FOR FURTHER REVIEW. AND A COPY OF THE RPT FROM QUALITY INSURANCE WOULD BE SENT TO ME. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO. RPTR STATED THAT THE FAA HAS DECIDED TO TAKE ACTION BUT THAT HE MIGHT GET A WRITTEN LETTER OF WARNING IN HIS FILE AND/OR BE REQUIRED TO TAKE SOME REMEDIAL TRNING. HE ALSO SAID THAT ATC SAID HE CAUSED A LTSS AT 3 MI HORIZ AND 700' VERT.
